INFO ON 3860 IH LOADER

I would like any available info on an IH payloader model number 3860. I am considering buying it as it seems to be in good condition and everything works. What year(s) were these made? The fellow told me it had the same engine as the 560 diesel that I originally went there to look at. Is that true? from what I could see they are quite similar. Have not been able to see the serial number. could not locate it. Has cab,of course, and heater is said to work, all pins and buchings seem good and tight for the age of the machine. Bucket is not beaten up at all. Said to be one owner and used only at trucking to keep snow off of lot and other misc. work.
The fellow wants $5800.00 for the machine. I did not think that was too awful bad.
If someone could give some insight I would greatly appreciare it.
