I have a 656 gas i am trying to install new points with no luck. i havent been able to get an owners manual yet. working on distributers is my weak point on tractors. What do the points have to be gapped at? what do u have to do to get the distributer just right to check the gap.. i bought a set of points at tractor supply for an IH distributer. 656 was NOT listed on box but it was the closest they had and i thought it might work. everything looks the same except for the small adjusting bracket with the contact point on it is different. i put the old one back in but still can't get the bugger to fire... any help would be appreciated...
