The hour meter did a melt down from sitting in the sun too long, (probably years past) but this has caused the internal gears to lock up. I am able to free it up some but it just binds back up. The cable and cable housing are in very good shape. I have checked both ends for rounding off, broken or binding. Also I believe the tach drive gear is stripped because I do not see the cable drive turn while the motor is running. Can I purchase a tach and tach drive gear anywhere aftermarket or still get them from the dealer? I have tried some through the internet catalog searches but only find cables. I would just like to have a working tach that fits the hole. Any help on this would sure be appreciated
