Ok, I went back and looked behind the carb. I doo see a few hand stamped numbers there, but can't make them out as the 2 hydraulic lines are in the way. My cubs sn on the steering gear box is 227381J The carb had onlt one marking that I could see... the top flange where it bolted to the manifold had a stamped 6-93 Carb looks like it has a few years on it.. but not 38 ys.. and I don't know what to look for to tell the two carbs apart. thanks for the help, and any more you can gove me. I'm a 'ford' man.. but love this cub, and am trying to learn as mch as I can about it. Soundguy
