Serial Number Help IH 340

A friend of mine is looking at buying a IH 340. The number that he gave me is 9645J. I looked up the serial numbers on this site and that tractor was produced from 1958 till 1963. The starting serial number in 1963 was 7699. So would that make that tractor a 63? Or is he looking at the wrong number. Also the tractor is a wide front model for what its worth.
