Harry, The 460/560's were the first Farmalls to use HTDT oil instead of a gear oil in the trans/dif and a hydraulic oil in that system. The TA housing, trans and dif act as a common reservoir. To get it completely drained, you'll have to pull the plugs in the trans and dif too. I'm not sure about a 460 Farmall, but on an International there is a plug on the left side of the trans that acts as a level indicator. To check if the TA is working,start out in direct, pull back the TA and step on the brakes. If you stop, it's slipping. If you're lucky, it's out of adjustment. If not it's a major tear down as you have to split the tractor to get at the TA. Wood
