The fuel filter is attached to the carb fitting that the fuel line screws into, you have to remove the fitting. If it is the coil (may apply to condensor too, I don't know), when it cools off it may start and run for a while and then quit. Next time it quits, pull one of the plug wires and check for spark, or pull the coil wire out of the cap and check for spark. If it is the fuel tank itself, it may be as simple as taking a wire and running it into the fuel outlet. may only be a temporary fix, but it may run a long time too.
