that is almost for sure a farmall SC. the plates on he side of the frame are home made and were most liky made to mount something to the tractor. you are looking at abough t$300 in rear tires new, and i would say if the block is cracked you can get a complete engine for parts from $200-$400. you might try geting a engine out of an OLD IH combine and sticking it in there. or just useing parts from that engine. if you were to offer him $500 and get the tractor you can make alot of money just buy partsing it out. the wheel weights will bring at least $100 the wide front will be worth the buying price or just a little less. the three point is a big item for resale. that wide front is a IH not a swartz. the tie rods are out the front end instead of the back. the rims look good on the tractor, there is no visible signs of bubleing in the rim that would meen that the KCL has eaten the rim out. good luck on your endevere. 500 miles would be way to far for me to go to get that kind of prodject when i am sure that there are more much closer and in better shape. On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
