Have you tested the wire that runs from the coil to the distributor ? Use a test light and put it on the connection at the distributor ( from the coil) make sure that the ignition is on if the test light , lights up it your problem lies in either your cap rotor or points,or condensor if the test light does not light up, the wire from your coil to the distributor is grounding out on the distributor casing.
