a 544 Farmall Grill will not fit a International

I was at the tractor salvage yard today and found a nice 656 Farmall grill ( small perferated holes with pleted metel). I called the wife before I bought it to make sure it would fit on my 544 International (it looked like it definatly would and for $50 I thought it would look a lot better then the chicken wire I presently have). Wouldn't you know it, the Farmall grill was a few inches taller. It is the same tractor. I do not see why the change in grill size. Anyone run into this before?
