Doug the best source is from a great guy one this site that goes by Bob M. If you page down just a little ways on tonights questions there is one with the heading "converting 48 Farmall A to 12v" there is a link along with this posting that will take you to some of Bob M's diagrams that should be a big help to you. On your grounding ? it will be 12v neg ground.
