help identifying old tractor

I am brand new to the world of owning{restoring} a tractor. My father recently gave me his old tractor. The old girl needs some TLC but nothing beyond repair. My problem is that I would like to identify it properly. It has McCormick Farmall Super A, painted on the hood, but there has been much discusion at home and at work about what it really is. I found the #351687-r1 near the bell housing, could just be a casting part # ,just not sure.Any other identifying parts or markings ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'll get a picture and post it, shortly after I cut the brush from around it. Thanks in advance.
