Thanks, I will check the rock shaft and if I need to I pull the governor back off and check the spring. My father bought this tractor about 2 years ago, then it would idle but it would not open up all the way, it would open up enough to use it but that was all. We took all of the sheet metal, tires, radiator and almost everything else off to clean it up and paint it, we did not take anything off the engine except the carb. When we put it back together it would not idle correctly but would open up more. I then tried to adjust the governor and then took it off and could not find anything wrong. It has worked well enough to use for the past year or so. It is a 71 model he bought from the local tractor dealership, not sure where they got it, but who know what parts have been changed in 30 years. I will spend some more time on it.
