Noticed the same thing on my Super M when adjusting the clutch and brakes. How about just putting washers in there so it won't go side to side? Will that mess things up? Was also wondering about the free play. The manual said 7/8" ( i think, 400 miles from home now) and I had 3 inches, it also said as it wears the free play will become less. So how the heck did I get more? It was adjusted almost all the way "out", I had to go further out to get the free play down to 7/8".
