Tractorfolk: Often characterize myself as a mechanic wannabe.Probably proved it on Saturday. Governor spring broke on my Cub; pulled radiator to replace spring . Couldn't figure a way to get to it w/o removing radiator. Re-installed radiator using RTV in place of gasket which was badly worn. Pushed out RTV on the outside of radiator when I brought bolts all the way home. Now I suspect I did the same on the inside which means with hot radiator fluid I risk it coming loose and gunking the radiator up or the RTV lodging somewhere else in the system. Any thoughts here? Any experience here? Must I pull the radiator off and start all over again? If so, how much RTV is too much? Kajun
