sounds like two problems. "wont crank when hot, but starts the next morning", that sounds like the timing of the spark is too far advanced and trouble when motor is hot, or maybe carbon buildup on head makes "precombustion" when hot so it will not crank at normal speed. if the battery gradually goes down, you need to short the generator F terminal to ground and see what the amp meter does. if that dont work, then bypass the regulator or cutout and put the generator A terminal straight to the ampmeter, (other side to battery) and now see what the amp meter reads. if nothing, the generator is bad.
