Ty, As long as you've matched the firing order, should be no problem. Assume from what you say it runs smooth at lower RPM, just not at full throttle. Have you tried an old strobe type timing light on it? You may need to degree mark the front pulley, but that would be the quickest way to see if you're getting too much or too little advance at full throttle. You could also see if the dist is firing erratically; which would indicate spark scatter caused by worn bushings in the distributor.
