BobM-concur on the D21's.
If the engine isn't top notch-hotter plugs are required.
My '54 runs perfect with them in,as well as new solid core plug wires and new dist. cap and rotor.
I always crank first and then add choke rather than full choke from the first crank,then add or let off choke until engine runs smooth.
