Ultimately you may be happier with a standard 3 wire 10-si ... which really only requires 2 wire going from alternator. The thing about one wires is they have to have fairly high RPMs to get going and then they're fine. For a regular 3 wire the wiring is hot post to +battery or solenoid where +battery connects. #2 lead to hot post, just a jumper. And #1 to basically any key switched circuit. Lots of posts on this subject. Been awhile since I wired my alternator, may have #1 and #2 backwards above.
