M's have been long noted for easy starting in cold weather. Assuming yours is cranking over OK, check the following: 1 - Choke closing fully, and the choke plate is properly positioned on the shaft (no gaps whatsoever between the plate and the air passage when closed) 2 - Clean plugs, properly gapped. Recommend Champion D-21 or equiv "hot" plug for cold weather operation. 3 - Points in good shape and properly gapped. Distributor clean and dry inside. 4 - Make sure you have fresh fuel. Gas that's been sitting in the tank all summer will have evaporated it's light fractions - this results in hard starting. Good luck!
