Mark, The end of the crankshaft should have a hole with threads. I screw a bolt into the hole to protect the threads and use a "gear puller" and a "bearing separator". If you don't have a bearing separator, Harbor Freight has them. Use the bearing separator to grab the pulley hub and pull on it instead of directly on the pulley flange. Often the pulley will break before you get it off if you pull on the pulley flange. I usually apply a little bit of heat, not much just a little. After you get it off you may find that the pulley has a groove worn into it by the oil seal. Repair sleeves are available. I beleive NAPA may have them. The other solution is a new pulley. To install the pulley, screw a threaded shaft into the hole in the end of the crankshaft and pull it on with a nut. Of course clean and lubricate the the crankshaft and pulley. Again I warm the pulley just a little. Just take your time and go slow. This is not a place for big hammers. Good Luck, K-Mo
