Paul, from time to time my old M won't start because of weak spark, I remove the mag, take the plate off the end and using fine emery cloth I give the points a good cleaning and then reassemble. The M usually starts on the second crank when I do this...mags last a long time and although you could have a bad mag it is rare...more likely the points that are the problem..Old and Bob M. concur.......Mike in Exeter Ontario
