I think your brain is remembering things that just weren't so. Maybe your new H could use an overhaul or simply a tune-up, and maybe it still has the old flat top pistons and lower horsepower. But Even at best an H is not a powerful tractor. I have an M with an F11 on it and even that is not a high horsepower tractor but it still does it's job. when I was a kid our Allis WD was a big tractor. We used it to cut ensilage and all the "heavy" work on the farm. Now I use mine to rake hay. We just got used to bigger and faster and it is hard to go back. All that being said, Allan, I love the H and just bought one for myself. They are light steering easy to work on and fun to drive. Mine has a McCormick loader on it that I am thinking of selling as I realy do not need another loader tractor. I already have the M and an 86 Hydro with loaders. By the way, how far out in the hills are you? I lived north of Hershey on the Birdwood for several years but now am north of McCook.
