You'll want to check the ta clutch, on my SMTA you could access it from a plate on the top of the housing. Just look at it though to fix it you have to diss a semble the whole thing. I think if it is just slipping in low it is probably the ramp and roller setup. There are a couple options if that is the case, if only ramp and roller problem you can get a bebuilt ramp and roller or you can update to a sprague type setup which is supposed to be more solid. When I did mine I got a rebuilt ramp and roller from steel wheel ranch, they also had a conversion to sprague type for more money or a complete rebuilt ta, You will also need seals and gaskets and depending upon condition of ta clutch plate possibley one of those also. Not a rela bad job if you have a hoist or loader tohandle the heavy center housing. Much easier if you have service book and parts book.
