A magneto does not care if the tractor is 6 volt, 12 volt, 24 volt, or anything else. It does not care if the system is a negative ground, or a positive ground. Why? Because the magneto is totally independent of the battery or any type of charging system. It will function even if your tractor does not have a battery, which is what it was intended for. Most magneto equipped tractors do not have an electrical system, and are started by hand cranking.
