Have just done this exact thing to my Regular.I removed the final housings w/bull gears,counter shafts,differental-ring gear assemblys as I am redoing the gaskets and felt seals througout.Used a cherry picker to support the housing while removing from the transmission.Not a really bad job just greasy,takes a few hours.The bearing caps for the diff. assy. will push off by using a longer bolt in the hole for the retaining clips of the bearing adjusters.This is the 5/8" size head bolt in the center of the cap.Hope this makes sense.
