I figured that they were supposed to help line up the motor and the tube. But IH seems to have gone out of their way to make an overly complicated pin. A 5/16" long stub would have been much handier to use and a lot easier to make. The parts book shows them as being treaded, so I doubt that it is a spurious part. Does anyone know what the treaded portion was for ? It sure looked like it would go in before the motor. Greg
