The small set screw holds in place the crankshaft starting pin. It is a small miracle that you were able to get this screw out. Usually they have to be drilled out. The crankshaft starting pin is not a loose fit in the hole in the crank. You will have to take a drift pin, or a long punch and drive it out. Be careful not to hit the pulley with the hammer, you will take out a chunk of it real quick. The nut has a flat sheet metal keper on it to keep it from coming loose. Flatten the part that holds the nut in place and remove the nut with a socket if you can. Worst case is to loosen it with a chisel and hammer. After the nut is loose the pulley will normally pull off with a little persuasion. Sometimes you have to get a pulley puller to get it off. In any case, this has to come off in order to get off the timning cover. Also the front seal of the engine is right at this spot too. I have done this job many times, and it is usually not too hard. Good luck!
