H electrics?

I'd appreciate it if anyone can tell me, in easy plain-English, how the "electrics" work on the H model. In what series are the components set up to get juice -- and in what order MUST they get juice? I know this may sound a simple thing to most of you, but the electrics on my H are giving me fits and I could use a review by someone who can put it in plain-english Help!
