And if you're on an up-slope, or with a load, or not warmed up, wait until conditions improve. Don't get it going in 4th and then try to double-clutch-throttle-just-right-sync it into 5th. It only takes a few good grinds and you'll be doing an archive search on "jumps out of road gear."
