diagram of a IH 656 water pump

I recently put a cab on my IH 656. I trying to hook up the heater hoses. Which port is input and which port is output on the water pump? Also, the heater core in the cab is located above the windshield. How does the antifreeze stay up in the lines and heater core. I'm guessing there must be a check valve or something?
