You mean the air intake tube to the carburetor.
The float must me stuck open inside the carb allowing fuel to pour into the bowl and then drain right out the updraft(air cleaner tube).
Sometimes the float will touch the side wall and get stuck so some tapping with a rubber mallet on the bottom bowl of the carb may loosen it. Other than that, you may have developed a hole in the float and it is sunk. Should probably take the carb apart and see if anything like a big flake of rust is keeping the needle valve from closing.
