You don't have to retake the pictures to change the resolution. Just open them in MS photo editor or a similar program. Then set the percent size so that they just fill the computer screen. Then click on resize and resize to the percent that filled the screen and "save as" to a new file, or if you don't want to keep the high resolution photo, just save over the old file. The higher resolution only does any good if you are printing larger prints.
