Chris: I really can't say for sure for the gas engine. I those days gas was out of the question, in fact since 1960, I really cant see how anyone could justify the purchase of a gasser over 30 hp. I have a 1975 IH buyers guide on tractors, tillage and loaders. This guide no longer even shows a gas engine for the 666 or the 766. I do know it was there in earilier guides. IH must have dropped the gas engines on those two models before end of production.
