There is no need for name calling and throwing barbs. Chains and tow straps both have their individual pros and cons. Most tow strap accidents are a result of the breakage of the piece they are attached to not the breakage of the strap. The problem with straps is that they stretch significantly and can launch a clevis, hitch or other hunk of steel like a rocket toward the unsuspecting victim. I prefer chains myself, yes they can break but if they do they tend to fall harmlessly to the ground. Use whichever you prefer but make safety be your number one concern.
