Rusty, I've done that myself (keep my hands in my pocket) I went to and auction last fall specificly to look at a Farmall "C". As the bidding began, I noticed this young man in his late teens to early 20's begin to bid, and decided that there would be another day for me, and hoped he would end up with a treasure. The trouble was that the owners son started bidding against him and ran the price up to where it wasn't such a bargain afterall. Thankfully, the young man stopped bidding too. I walked up to him afterward and told him that he did just right and that there were other tractors out there for him, and be patient. As far as giving stuff away, I find it more rewarding to give something to someone who can use it than try to sell it. It does come back in blessings we never dream of. But then, I'm not in the business to show a profit.
