Santa, you've gotten excellent advice from little john and Bill Smith. I would add that PATIENCE is the most important part of this procedure, because that old belt may have been on there for 30 years or more, and those parts likely haven't been moved in quite a while. If you can allow yourself the time, turn that setscrew hole up on top, and pour some solvent in there, then let it set for a day or so. Work the front sheave of that pulley back and forth, and soon you'll have it turning. The threads are likely full of dust and corrosion, so take your time. I got one loose on my M last winter that hadn't been moved in at least 25 years. I used most of a can of spray Gumout, and most of a can of PB Blaster before I was finished.
