Butch. I am well aware that Rudolph Diesel invented the diesel. Read a book about him and find out how difficult it was to mass produce and sell the diesel engine in this country. IH and Cat were the early pioneers. Watch the early films IH produced and the incredible efforts IH put into making the diesel a commercial success. By the way our family sold MD's new at our dealership. I have been around MD overhauls for over 30 years. A friend just put $3,000 in the injection pump alone on a RUNNING MD and he took it on and off. Not nozzles, lines or precups. I do not think I know it all and I am sorry if I offended someone with my opinion. Merry Christmas!

Memories of an IH Super A When I was ? up to 10, I worked on my Papaw's farm in Greeneville, TN every summer. As I grew older (7), it was the thrill of my day to ride or drive on the tractor. My Papaw had a 1954 IH Super A that he bought to replace a Cub. My Papaw raised "baccer" (tobacco) and corn with the Super A, but the fondest memory was of the sawmill.
