I just talked to an individual who worked at Rock Island until the last day and he said he doesn't recall anything built there bigger than the 3588 and that they were the first robotic built tractors in the IH line, I mentioned the numbers after that and he said he wasn't aware of them. He said there were ten tractors on the line when they shutdown with no sheet metal which were supposed to be thier new series tractors but no info was given and those tractors were sold for scrap to a bidder dealer in Oklahoma by the name of Yates in Yates Okl. The rumors and only rumors were that White Manf. at Charles City Ia. were building the later 2+2's. You have to understand this individual is not a farmer and was concerned about his livlihood he had to transfer to Springfield, Ohio to get his time in to retire, so he had no axe to grind as far as what color built what except he was losing his job and had to relocate. I would like to know does anyone know where the later 2+2's were made? Reading the differences in the later models vs older ones it makes me wonder.
