As CNKS stated in Guy fays Farmall book it would be a Serial # prefix. SM L-xxxxxx If the L was behind the serial # it would be a suffix. There are no L suffix letters. It would be more like X1, X1B something like that. Yes the ones I got are Loui tractors. Closer to ship them to TX. Seams like people try and hype up a Loui SM but I cant figure why. Maybe someone can tell me.
