404 year model?

I need some help identifing the year model of my 404. I am going to order some parts and some you need to know the year or serial #. The plate is gone from the clutch housing. I know the older farmalls would match up with the engine block serial #, but I dont think after the letter series that they matched up. Any Ideas on finding out what Year model I have?
