a Battery Tender by Deltran is what you need. I have a 5 year old battery on my Ford 2N, and many of the batteries on my antique motorcycles are at least that old and they all work fine. As a matter of fact, I set some of my stuff to not charge at all, because most of those old systems will boil a battery dry. At the end of the day, just hook up the Tender, and you are back in business. There is one othe trick you can use, but not nearly as good. I did this before I had a tender. Plug your big charger into your outlet light on an electric garage door opener. They usually power an outlet for 5 minutes or so after opening or closing the door. This way you won't overcharge. For a tractor kept in teh garage, this works great. Take Care Steve
