It all depends, personally if I was in that far and had it apart, new gears on anything questionable. If the 4th/5th sliding gear shows evidence of grinding it could be just a step away from jumping out of 5th. Just my opinions... famous last words the last time I fixed my snowmobile, "if only I would have had the time to do it right the first time..."
