I think the 806 diesel has got to be one of the toughest tractors IH made. It's not uncommon to find one with thousands of hours on it and still has no need for engine overhaul. The shifter is a pain and some guys have had IH 856 shifting mechanisms installed in place of the original linkages. The T/A would probably be the only weak part as it is in most IH tractors.
