The early mounts are what you are describing. The reason for the change to the cast iron ones is because the weight of the tractor will cause a settling effect with the rubber, and cause the starting crank (for hand start) to not align correctly.. The mounts are actually one piece (2 staped steel pieces bonded with rubber). I have a NOS Set available. The mounts can be changed to the later cast iron mounts, but that requires the changing of the frame rails also.
