Al: I never had a 340 so not up to date on all changes, except I do know the PTO units changed over the years. On the early models the PTO unit had to be removed from tractor for adjustment of PTO clutch pack. On the later models there is a screw in plug about 1.5" in diameter, right on top of unit. Through that hole you can adjust the cluth pack.
