Ed, It is entirely possible that your tractor could have had gauges from both generations since it was not beyond IH to do that with a lot of components in changeover years. As to the fuse mopunted in the switch box, I think that came later, but not sure what year. Maybe someone else can verify that for you. Just curious, but which gauge has the IH, and which has IHC? Oil should be IH unless it was replaced, but water could be either since if your tractor didnt have lights, it is also possible that it didnt have a water gauge from the factory, which was not uncommon for those years, and a gauge added on later. During the war and right after, there were a lot of "bare bones" tractors out there. A neighbor of ours had a 45 "H" that although had rubber tires, had no lights, or starter, or water gauge.
