Tommy, Where in Fla are you? I graduated from So. Dade HS, In Homestead Fla, and our Ag Dept grew vegtables that supplied the cafeterias in all the other Dade County Schools. We had a plant nursury in addition to the land we planted Potatoes, Pole beans, Sweet corn, Okra, Onions, Tomatoes, and a few other things. One guy even tried to raise tobacco but the kabash was put to that idea. (wonder what the samy guy would have tried to raise in this day and age, Hmmmmm. Each student that planted a plot was responsible to keep a journal listing his expenses, the variety of seed and fertilizer used, labor costs, fuel costs and any other expense involved, He was then expected to show a profit even tho the Ag Dept sponsored each student.
