Probably the best place to get an answer to your question would be the Blue Ribbon Service Manuals. These are the shop manuals for the IH service techs. They can be found at the link below. There are also other avenues of info avialable at the link below. Check em out. I think what you are refering to is to go from a cut-out to a regulator system, and this should be covered in the GSS-1012 Electrical manual
