RB: These short notes don't always detail all info and I sometimes wonder about how a detailed solution can be determined from undetailed info.. He didn't say gas wasn't dripping but he did say that it had "starved for gas" and he did "pull the carb" (took it apart?)and checked for dirty conditions and after wards it smelled very rich.. Kinda sounds like he was well into playing around with the carb a hole bunch and I thought it reasonable to continue to suspect that rather than jump over to the points.. but hey if he gets it running with any suggestion, then thats all thats needed.. Some of the best repairmen I know stay flexable in their thinking as to any and all possible problems rather than to focus on only one point.. all is well that ends well.. harvey
